Ichiban Oriental Restaurant in East Stroudsburg

Always worth the 45 minute drive. Best Chinese food around. I pass 6 other Chinese spots to get there and wouldn't est at any of them.

Great Chinese and Japanese food. Huge slabs of fish for the sushi. The General's Chicken was a huge hit. We all enjoyed our meals. Pricy but worth it.

We love dining in and today we tried the take out because of COVID 19. We ordered several things - the trio sushi meal with soup and salad - the soup had spilled in the bag, the salad and sushi were fine. We also ordered two rolls - both were asked to have NO eel sauce. Eel sauce was on both. We also ordered appetizers which were cold by the time we got home. My suggestion is to have better takeout containers and to listen to the customer. We spent $82, which included a tip, and we were not as satisfied with the takeout as we are when we dine in.

Love this place, order is always on point, food is great and the staff is the best in the Poconos. Take out or dinning in you can't go wrong. They don't hesitate to satisfy every customer's needs.

Really good food and great prices

Sushi are disgusting by the taste.Place is overrun as a sushi-restaurant .Expect to eat lowest quality of food, no-frills s-t with overcharging your reasonable expectation.Run away !!! Get yourself in any other sushi place and it definitely would be much better.

Fabulous experience! We sat at the hibachi cooktop and got to enjoy a wonderful presentation as well as great food. If you're visiting in town or out for a special night, I would highly recommend it. It's expensive, but well worth it. I wish I could have tried the sushi or other items, but I was stuffed. The ribeye, chicken, and strip were all great. Highly recommended....an additional comment, the place doesn't look like much from the outside, but is very nice inside. Enjoy!

Very polite employees and calm atmosphere. Food was amazing!

The ambience here is really nice. The decor is top notch. Unfortunately, the food falls short. The portions (steak and shrimp meal) were very small and the rice was FAR too salty. The drinks were ok but nothing to make this a place I would go to again. Once and done for me.

This place has the freshest most delicious food. I was very impressed. I say try this place before any other Chinese or Japanese food. Just great.

Few years later: Still the best place I've been, food is great and the restaurant in clean. Even our cat loves it!Been going there for more than a year now. It was the place of me and my fiancée first date. For the past year or more we've only had good experiences. I'm not a fan of the new plates granted they do look great. Food is always delicious and at a reasonable price. Staff is always very kind and patient. I do have to say the bathrooms aren't entirely great aesthetically but they are always clean from what I've seen. That being said, a 5 out of 5 will do

Not what we expected... no flavor and taste over cooked..

the food was alright, but the amount my family had gotten was so little. The other people on the opposite end got the food we ordered and didn’t end up eating it. The manners from the chef was extremely rude because he rolled his eyes and gave dirty stares. Point is that we could’ve easily went somewhere else for much better quality and respect.

Ordered the hibatchi chicken lunch for pick up. Very bland. Not sure if that is a result of it being a take out order or not. However, staff was very friendly and my order was ready very quickly. I received a good amount of food for the price. I just wish the food would have tasted better.Note: This was also on a Monday afternoon. Potentially better during evening or weekend. However, I will not be returning to find out.

Great variety and fresh sushi, hibachi is always a hit.

The quality of the food isn't great. The chicken was old and chewy, the sushi wasn't fresh. The calamari was overly fried. Just walked by a table with white people sitting there, their calamari looks pretty good. I wouldn't recommend.

It was fair, food did not seem or taste fresh, sushi had a freshly defrosted taste. We are used to NY/NJ food so PA may warrant different expectations.

The Ichiban Restaurant was Wonderful, Food Service and Price, We always come back.

Best Hibachi experience ever. The chef was knowledgeable and fun and he made the experience awesome. Plus, very decent prices compared to other options in the area.

Pork fried rice is as good as it gets. Like the sushi but would love it if it had just a tad more rice. Very clean and the staff is very attentive.

I enjoyed my first time there. Very interesting inside. Great food, large portions, great prices.

They recently updated their restaurant and it looks great, much more space. Their food is very good. I usually get takeout, but will be eating in and enjoy the new dining room.

Sushi is the best around. Fresh and delicious def doesn’t taste like gummy bears.. idk what that guy was smoking that day but yeah the sushi is great.

Please don’t even bother. Sushi’s taste nothing close to Sushi’s. It feels like you’re heating gummy bears 🐻

Hibachi Hooray! Always a great time at Ichiban whether you go dining solo, for two or with the whole family for the hibachi, sushi or Chinese cuisine, it's always delicious. The service is also good. My one con and it's minor, is that the bartender is light handed on the alchohol in the alcoholic beverages. If you're in the Poconos, check them out.

Great food, service,good price, a really nice place.

Whether sushi or chinese, everytime I eat their food it is fresh and delicious. This is my go-to place for quality sushi. I take advantage of their sushi combos and their lower price sushi lunch specials. I usually meet up with a friend or family member, we dive into sushi heaven and leave so satisfied. I highly recommend this Ichiban to anyone in the area who loves sushi and great chinese food.

We went here because there are charging stations across the street for our electric car. It was a little crowded, but they got us seated very quickly. There are a lot of options, but I’m sure anything would taste good. They have a mix of hibachi styled meals and fish. The food was fabulous, and I would definitely recommend to come here.

My favorite eat in or take out! The dishes have been prepared in traditional fashion and everything is delicious. I have been going to this restaurant since it opened. How long? I bet 20 years at least. From father to his son, excellent through the decades. Love it!

General Tsos chicken looked and tasted old.

I was tired of cooking during this quarantine with work and online school for myself and the kids and the staff at Garden at Strouds recommended me to this place . Thank God finally something for lunch something for the kids the food is great delicious . Thanks Guys ..

Very nice experience! We were driving around and looking for a place to have lunch, happy we came here. Food was great, we got spicy tuna and Boston roll to start. Also the seafood main course was great. To drink I got the zombie cocktail, served in a cool way

Food is pretty good

ALWAYS SEATED QUICKLY, AND ATTENTIVE STAFF. ALL THE FOOD IS DELICIOUS "EXCEPT" THE BONE IN SPARE RIBS. THE RIBS ARE ALWAYS OLD TASTING AND WAY TOO SWEET!!!! INSTANT HEADACHE EACH TIME I TRIED THEM. OTHER THAN THAT, THE OTHER MEALS ARE VERY GOOD. AMBIANCE IS QUIET AND TRANQUIL, AND I FREQUENT AT LEAST 3X A MONTH.
